Dr. Vazquez is a pianist from Mexico City, Mexico who specializes in Mexican and Spanish music as well as the piano works of Chopin and Liszt. He is the piano instructor at Central Community College in Columbus NE, and one of the founders of Vazquez Music Studio. He finds his primary calling in teaching others, no matter the age of the student, and has been doing so for over 15 years.
He completed his doctorate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied with Steinway Artist Dr. Mark Clinton; his master's degree at K-State, under the teaching of Dr. Slawomir Dobrzanski; and his bachelor's degree at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, under the teaching of Jesús Ma. Figueroa.
Most recently, Dr. Vazquez was a guest lecturer at the 2023 Nebraska Music Teachers Association conference in Omaha. He has been a guest artist for “The Ponce Project” and performed at the College Music Society National Conference in 2021. He has performed throughout Mexico and internationally in the United States and Slovakia.
Dr. Vazquez is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Nebraska Music Teachers Association, as well as a member of the Music's Honor Society of Pi Kappa Lambda.
